Andres was previously on Capitol Hill for six years advising two U.S. Senators. He most recently served as a Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Margaret Wood Hassan (D-NH) on energy and environment issues. He also advised U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) in support of her work on the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a vast bipartisan network from his years in Washington, D.C. During his tenure in the Senate, he also served on the Executive Board of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association helping recruit and advance minority staffers in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations from the State University of New York College at Geneseo, a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and Military Studies, and a Master’s Certificate in National Security and Strategic Studies from Hawaii Pacific University. He and his wife Laura welcomed their first child in May 2020. They love taking him hiking and for picnics along the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
