Rivian has developed and vertically integrated a connected electric platform that can be flexibly applied to a range of applications, including the company’s adventure products as well as B2B products such as the Amazon last mile delivery vans. The company’s launch products, the R1T and R1S, provide an unmatched combination of performance, off-road capability and utility. These vehicles are produced at Rivian’s manufacturing plant in Normal, Ill., with customer deliveries expected to begin in summer 2021.
We are a network of offices, test labs, experience centers, service centers, charging stations and manufacturing sites, all interconnected by thousands of employees. Building a collaborative culture is critical for us to deliver on our mission – the complexity of our products and customer ecosystems means that a wide range of skill sets and backgrounds must work closely together to make thousands of decisions every day. The degree to which we are successful in continuing to build and maintain our collaborative culture will directly translate to our ability to create beautifully curated and holistically integrated customer experiences. This cross-system view is also foundational for our goal to achieve carbon neutrality across our entire business by 2028.
We design for complete life cycles across everything we do. Our battery packs are designed to be easily removed from our vehicles and either recycled or used in “second life” applications such as stationary storage.
To build the kind of future our kids and our kids’ kids deserve, extraordinary steps must be taken to stop the carbonization of our atmosphere. This requires individuals and entire industries to come together in ways we never have before to transition the world toward sustainable energy. This is where Rivian’s potential lies — in creating solutions that shift consumer mindsets and inspire other companies to fundamentally change the way they operate.
