Meanwhile, depending on their particular requirements and the size of the project, utilities and businesses can purchase Megapack – an infinitely scalable energy storage system that provides greater control, efficiency, and reliability across the electric grid – for their energy storage needs. Renewable energy generation and storage are critical components of developing microgrids – an increasingly important means of delivering reliable and sustainable electricity around the world.
Tesla aims to continue to increase the proportion of renewable energy usage at its factories in an effort to minimize the carbon footprint for every mile traveled by its products and their components in Tesla’s supply chain. Tesla’s numerous domestic and international facilities – including its factories in Fremont, CA, and Lathrop, CA; Gigafactory Nevada; Gigafactory New York; Gigafactory Shanghai; and its forthcoming Gigafactories in Texas and Berlin – are designed from the beginning to use energy from renewable sources.
